Hello, list! I successfully installed the OneWorld Xe client on a new terminal server, but get the "SEC00000007 - Unable to locate security server" message upon attempted login.

Enterprise Server is AS400 V5R1; terminal server is Windows 2000 Server (Standard, SP2) running terminal services, Windows, MDAC 2.7 SP1, IBM Client Access V5R1 SI11806. All other clients are able to log in without problems. I am also able to ping the AS400 from this machine.

We have tried restarting OneWorld services on the AS400, with the same result.

My deployment server is running Windows 2000 Server with SP3 and I can log in fine.

Any ideas?

This may or may not work depending on the databases' security.

using a local host file?

Can you ping the Security server from the command line of the new server?

Per your advice, I added an entry to the hosts file and it worked splendidly.

That's when I discovered I had failed to enter the computer's fully qualified domain name under Windows 2000 network identification. (Control Panel > System > Network Identification > Properties > More.)

Bing bang boom. It all works now. Thank you for quick thinking!
