Hello listers,
I just did an upgrade from MSDE to SSE at a client. The Deployment server and the rest went smoothly. The first development workstation did not. Here is what I found:
Per the instructions from Oracle, you must uninstall the existing installation of JDE from the workstation. I strongly recommend cleaning up the leftovers and reboot. Upon running the installation with the new full package, the SSE install continuously failed on MSXML 6, which would not allow JDE to install. This workstation is XP Pro, 32-bit, Service Pack 3. The issue is Service Pack 3 and MSXML that is installed as part of SP3. I found a utility from Microsoft HERE which allows an uninstall of MSXML 6 SP2. Once I removed MSXML 6 SP2, the SSE install continued and all is well.
Thought anyone else who might encounter this problem would like to know with a search on JDEList!
