Hello Lists,
Does anyone has the idea if possible to run MPS with
weekly demand while the forecast data is generated
monthly.
Appreciated if any comments can help !
Regards,
John Hsiao

If your MRP buckets are weekly, then use forecast in weekly buckets as well. If using JDE to create forecast, there is a processing option to control the creation of actual and calculated forecast by week or month. If using some other data import method, take the monthly and divide it by 4-4-5 to put into weeks.

If you are using JDE statistical forecasting
techniquest to generate weekly forecast. You must have
weekly sales history by item going back usually a
minimum of 18 months. This is not a JDE constraint,
but a constraint of any Time Series statistical
technique used to generate a forecast. If you do not
have weekly sales of each week going back at 12-18
months, preferably 18 months, you will find your
forecast generated will either be inflated or
undervalued.
any other questions, give me an e-mail.

Hello Jim and Paul,
Thanks for the input and also I found the documents in
KG proof what you said. In fact, several SAR request
to add back the function "monthly data on forecast but
split into weekly data for MPS" which available on
A8.3, but with reply will be planned on B9.
Appreciated the comments !
