Mirriored Data Dictionary question.

I am bringing up a 2nd enterpise server in my configuration. All is going
well except that wehn I need to read the Data Dictionary (and OL, but that
doesn't happen often), OW needs to use JDBNET to get the info from our 1st
enterprise server. This process is painfully slow, and slows our 10K plus
records/hour conversion to 100 records/hour. The machines are connected
via a 100M Ethernet line, that is not showing any stress.

We are planning on using or 2nd 400 for failover and development/CRP, thus
I have a replicated READONLY copy of the DD7333 library. Are their any
implications to mapping DD on the 2nd 400 to the replicated copy, as long
as developers understand that they will be unable to change any DD
information on the 2nd AS/400?

Any help and advice will be much appreciated.

Thanks

You should be able to do this without an issue. Obviously you must manage any changes to the original DD and recreate the dd specs as needed using R92TAM (if you want to prevent JITI).

I do something similar when experimenting with DD changes. I create a different database and change my odbc settings to point to it instead.

Good luck.
