Migrate from AS/400 to Windows Enterprise Server - XE SP23K1

Need to move from AS/400 Enterprise Server to Windows based Enterprise Server. Currently we are running XE SP23K1. Would like to found out from anyone who have gone thru this exercise before or aware of the procedure what it would take to move from AS/400 Enterprise Server to Windows.

There are lot customizations on the Enterprise Server applications and some of the interfaces that we have are RF Smart, TLAshford, Optio and Manbase. In some cases XE is calling from its business function AS/400 programs also.

Could anyone please advise the procedure to do this migration.

Hi,

Many customers have migrated their E1 installation from/to
iSeries to other platforms. It's perfectly doable and it's
been discussed several times on this forum.

Your E1 customs will easily pass to the new platform,
unless they invoke native OS/400 or DB2/400 commands;
in that case, you should rewrite that OS-dependent
functionality from scratch.

I can't tell you about RF Smart, TLAshford, Optio and
Manbase; you should probably contact those companies and
ask them if their applications have been ported to Windows.
