JDeveloper with B9 Standalone - BSSV Lab

Hi JDEList,

I have searched through the site and also on the web for a solution but to no avail.

I am trying to do a hands on lab for BSSV and have installed B9 Standalone and JDeveloper 10.1.3.5.

I am able to create a BSSV object and also launch JDeveloper from OMW. The lab I am doing requires me to create a Database Value Object Class. But when I run through the wizard and specify a table and press Find I get the error below in the message log.

"Can not load Table/View records - [DATABASE_CONNECT_FAILED] Database Connection failed for DataSource Object Librarian Local.class com.jdedwards.database.base.JDBException"

I have no issues creating a Business Function Value Object Class through the wizard and my local web works fine as well.

Any helps on the above would be greatly appreciated.

Try to genearte HTML spec for the table thru OMW if that doesnt fix then you might have to look into INIs and ODBC

Hi Chan,

Thanks for replying. I generated the HTML specs and tried it again but still no luck. I then did a check out and check in of the object and then tried it again and still no luck. My INI's and ODBC's are fine as my local web launches. Can you attach your INI files for me to look at. I assume it is the JDBJ.INI that is the culprit.

Hi Sam

Tried to check for JDE.log file what you are missing.
Most probabaly your JDE account for the JDE databases is not enabled.
Tried to Reset the password for JDE in SQL Server and try again.

Hopefully it will resolve the problem.

But try first with checking the jde.log file what exactly you are missing.

Sam,
Turn on the BSSV log and see what you get in the debug log. This can give you some more info. You can also turn on toher debug logs.

Hi Chandra,

Thanks for getting back. Can you point me to where/which INI I can actually turn the BSSV logs on. I looked at the jde.log and see nothing there either.

Sam

Hi Jitender,

Thanks for your post. I see nothing of interest in the jde.log file. Re setting my password in SQL Server can you give me some step by step instructions or point me to where I can obtain this information. Please note that looking up business functions works but not tables.

Regards
Sam

The BSSV.log (as well as jas.log, jderoot.log and jasdebug.log) is turned on in the c:\e900\<pathcode>\ini\sbf\jdelog.properties file. The logs are probably already turned on by default, but the Oracle recommendation is that you change the relative paths of the log files to absolute ones so that you can easily find them.

All,

I too am facing exactly the same problem as OWDev (Database Value Object Class creation fails with error: "Can not load Table/View records - [DATABASE_CONNECT_FAILED] Database Connection failed for DataSource Object Librarian Local.class com.jdedwards.database.base.JDBException".

Here's what the BSSV.log file gives:

Hi

1) Create a new E1Local database user using sqlplus
2) Give Sys user rights for the new Database User created.
3) Create same user/password for JDE Standalone also.
4) Login JDE Using New User
5) Connect JDeveloper, Try Creating ValueObjects. you will get all work done.
