JDE services (jdequeue)

Dear list,

Situation: Oracle DB is taken down and bring back up without stopping the JDE services. Do a grep command and can see the jdequeue services there after Oracle is up.
Tried to submit UBE, but status is always hanged at "processing". This problem is solved once JDE services are restarted.

Normally, in KG..it is advisable to shut down OW before shutting down Oracle.

Is there any workaround, so that when Oracle is stop/start back, JDE is services still up and working? Can there be any health checks/clues to make sure JDE services are running fine?

Any views or thoughts are appreciated.

If you shut down Oracle without stopping the JDE services first, not only will
you need to stop the services, but then you will need to kill off all of the
orphaned processes that haven't died, such as jdequeue, runbatch, killqueue, and
jdesnet, jdesque, and jdenet*.
Once all these are gone, you can then restart the JDE services.

Our work-around is to shoot the DBA that brings Oracle down without first checking to make sure OneWorld is down.

Deriq,

Our ES is W2K and what I do before taking down Oracle DB is:

net stop "JDE Update 3 B733 Queue"
net stop "JDE Update 3 B733 Network"
kill jdesque.exe
kill jdesnet.exe
kill jdenet_k.exe
kill jdequeue.exe

Replacing NT commands with equivalent AIX flavour might help.

Larry, ya'll can put that shotgun down now, y'hear!
