Jde.ini on the server

Hello List,
Is there a way to edit the jde.ini file on the Enterprise server without =
signing on to the Enterprise server, using Oneworld as the user id and =
option # 5 on the SAW.
Can we access the ini file thru the AS/400 Operations Navigator or thru =
oneworld using the SAW?.

Please throw some light.

Thanks,

AS400 V4R5 OneWorld XE SP15 (Coexistence).

AS400Guru,
To my knowledge you cannot access the JDE.ini file via OneWorld (at
least in older versions). You must log on to the Enterprise Server (be
it remotely or whatever) and make changes to the Enterprise JDE.ini
file. I don't believe this is any different for the AS400. (Someone
with more XE experience may correct me on this, but I don't think it has
changed).

You can sign on to the AS/400 as QSECOFR or equal authority and change the
jde.ini by using STRPDM. Take option 3 work with members, file = ini,
library = B733xSYS. You can use this to make a copy of member jde into
jdebk. The jdebk can be used for future reference. I don't know of a way
to change the ini from within oneworld.

If you want to change it in Operations Navigator, navigate down to the Database option, then Libraries (If you don't have the Database option, you may have to re-install Client Access using Custom Install). Include the B733xSYS library to display, click on the B733xSYS library and in the right hand pane there should be a INI file you can open.

Wow, talk about completely misunderstanding a
thread....

I liked it better when jdelist had the quoted text in
the email.

What I meant to say was the server jde.ini could be
edited from the AS400 OneWorld menu, selection nine I
believe. Sorry if I confused things.
