Hi Axel,

The right naming convention (JDE) for new data dictionary items is :

A99ABCD

A : Begin alias with Y or Z
99 : System code
ABCD : short description with only 4 letters (!?!) ...

Exemple : Z55DOCO

Error message : >5000

Regards.

Objet : New Data Dictionary Item Naming Convention

Can someone please explain me the right naming convention for new data
dictionary items.

Up to now we used a $ sign followed by a maximum of 4 letter alias see
example below

Alias: $DGR
Product Code: 56
Description: DispoGroup

We didn't had any problems with this but is this naming convention save for
upgrade to Xe?

Any help or white papers would be greatly appreciated.

Axel
