Hyper Control Customisation

Hi Fellow Forum Members,

Here’s some functionality that a number of people probably already know of, but if you don’t, it can really make a lot of users out there very happy.

The tool I am talking about here is the ‘Customise option' in the preference bar of every application. When selecting the menu bar in “customise”, you have the option to dramatically change the appearance of an application.

Example 1: Change the sequence of the row exits. Just click the left arrow button whilst highlighting (on the right hand side) the row exit you wish to move; Place your cursor just before the location you wish to re-insert the row exit. Click on “row” on the left and select the row exit again in the middle and finally click on the right arrow button to re-insert.

Example 2: Move the ‘Report Exits” before the row exits (particularly handy in applications like address book, where you always have to click on “row” first before you can select eg A/R):
In this case highlight “Report” on the right and delete through the left arrow. After that, insert the report header back again in the desired location and move each option below it.

Example 3: Add Menu options at the top by re-inserting eg a form exit just prior to 'menu bottom'

All these changes are recorded as User overrides (just like new tabs) with user override code “HC” and can be copied to *PUBLIC in P98950 as to make the change available to everybody (log out of OW first!)

Alternatively you can set up HC overrides by user group. Eg A/R staff have the A/R row exit first in the address book and A/P staff have A/P first.
