Hello list, I am trying to figure out the requirements for adding an html
server to our setup. Do I need to run java and or WebSpere if I am just
looking to use the HTML client as remote / Online access. I saw the tech
specs on the garden but nothing specific on what combinations are supported.

Hi Brian,

you need to set up a JAS (Java Application Server). Than you can access
your JDE-System through a webbrowser (JAVA or HTML) and use it as a remote
access.
IBM Websphere is just a Third Party component of the JAS. The main
components are:

- Plattform (Win2000, NT40, or Win2000 Advanced Server)
- IBM Websphere
- Webserver (IIS or Apache)
- JDBC Driver (included in Oracle DB, for the SQL DB you have to by the JDBC
Driver from Beasys)
- Oracle DB or SQL DB or DB2
- JDE JAS Software

hope that was usefull!
