How to manage Email Profiles and WorkCenter Security

Hi all,

I have two questions relating to workflow:

1. When we set up the Email Profile for a person in the Employee Queue
Manager (specifying the mail type and email address), this enables the
person to receive emails both for workflow and for UBE jobs. How can we
arrange it so that Workflow emails are sent externally, and UBE jobs are
reported in the WorkCenter?

Alternatively, how do people control these emails? One way I can think
of is to use a spam filter at the email server, to drop all those
"OneWorld Job R09801 ZJDE0001 Completed" messages. Is there a better
way?

2. In our system we have Address Book Constant "Activate Email Security"
activated. This means the System Admin team cannot configure the Email
Profile for new and existing users. We don't know why this is configured
in our system - the responsible parties are no longer available. Two
possible ways around this are:

A. As part of the user setup process, disable the email security, set up
the profile, then re-enable the email security.

B. Disable Email Security, but limit access to the WorkCenter to the
user's own emails through row security. (This is unproven for us, yet.)

I'd be very interested to hear how these problems can best be resolved.

Thanks in advance,
Mark

Mark,

We have workflow set up and advise users to set up a rule in Outlook to direct job completed messages to the deleted folder. This works OK for us and we don't get complaints from users.

I was hoping to avoid rules at the user level. I had asked the Exchange guys about filtering but apprently Exchange does not do filtering like that.

Graham,

Could you, please walk me through the process, how to setup PeopleSoft redirecting job complition messages to an email server (Domino)?

Thanks in advance.

Kind regards,

Zoltan,

It's a couple of years since I did this but if you do a Solution Search for ott-00-0032 on the KG this will list you some recommended search strings depending on what you want. Hope this helps.

Graham,

That was what I was looking for, thanks so much for your quick response.

Kind regards,
Zoltan
