How to define default user business unit?

As it so often does with JDE frustration has set in...

I need to define the default business unit for a new employee, so that for example in Sales Order Entry the orders they enter default to a given business unit, however I cannot for the life of me find the program where you set this up, either by searching menus or by searching by keyword.

Hopefully someone can help - surely I can't be alone in having trouble finding menu options......... I thought it was under the Default Location & Printers, but other users who have a default are not listed in there, so there must be something else in addition.

Thanks in advance.........

Tony,
Has to be the Default Location & Printers. If want to verify, search
the source for P4211 for 40095 and see what the test is around the lines
that have this search value.

I think what you are looking for is in program P400951 (DEFAULT LOCATION & PRINTERS).

Tony,

I can never remember either so I type the word "Default" and hit F8. This should bring up the list with "Default Location & Printers." Then you can select the menu option with either a 4 or 5. I typically use a 5 and go to the menu instead of executing the option blind as it was. Hope this helps. (Of course you have to have the Menu Word Search refreshed, J980090, about one a week to keep up with menu changes.)

Tony;
You may want to try F6 from the User Information Page 0092.
It says company but that might be what you are seeing default in for the users with no Default locations & Printers data. Just a thought........

The fun of adding a new user....

We don't have many new users so to make life easier we created a "% menu"
for new users that steps us thru all the required programs.
For us that is:
wrkusrprf (to create a IBM user id)
P0092 (jde user)
P0093 (signon list)
P00241 (batch approval - we only need this for accounting people)
P00923 (user display preference - again for accounting for the company
code)
P400951 (default loc, printers, cost center) the program you are
looking for

I suppose to be complete we would have the address book program before
P0092, so that we remember to setup an AB entry.

Read up on the % menu, it is very useful in situations like this.

DUH - temporary brain short-circuit.......

I was there in the program - exactly where I was sure it should be...
I just didn't spot that my user id defaulted in as the display starting point so no users were shown above that - and since my user id begins with a "T"...

Thanks for your help everyone...
Have a good laugh on my behalf <grin>

Hope by this time you have solved the problem
I came across a similar situation and all I did was update F40095.
Give the Terminal ID (user) and default Business Unit and rest works fine.
