full server package and AS/400

Hi. We have AS/400 model 170 with a single processor in our test system. It's taking 30 hours to build a Xe full server package on there. I suspect that it will be faster with our production s20 model which has dual processor. Is there anything that I can "tweaked" on the AS/400 side to make the full server package build go any faster?

CHo,
Here's the reality of the situation....how do you spell "KA -- CHING.." I
have felt your pain. We used to be on a single processor 720 and builds
would take even longer than 30 hours at times. Thank God our company had
upgraded to a 4-way 830, V4R5, Gig Ethernet not only from the 400 but the
"CNC Workstation" as well where I kick off the builds.
Also a major key was having a JDE AS/400 expert visit for a couple of days
who "tweaked" the box just for OneWorld...one of the major items was to
create a multithreaded PKGBUILD queue (6). Also, make sure within your
switch configuration you have full duplex set everywhere...and on the client
machines.

Set the ODBC compression to on, particularly for CO.


170 = 19hrs full build
