Fixed Assets Depreciation across multiple business units

Greetings, we are on E1 9.0, tools 9.1.4.7

Here is the question presented to me. Can you run depreciation on an asset and have the depreciation go across more than one business units. The asset will be a software project and will have costs coming in from more than one development group. So they want depreciation to be spread across two business units not just one. I don't see a way to do this in JDE and it may be necessary to create two assets.

But that is my question today. Can one asset have depreciation spread across multiple (2 in this case) business units.

Thanks for your input.

I also don't see a way in JDE yet except we perform asset split or as you said create more than one asset.

This is very genuine requirement and I am disappointed JDE doesn't have a way to cater this need, unless someone guide us in right direction.

Oracle's reply was that no, you cannot. Their only suggestion was to create multiple assets, or do some of GL allocation after the asset is depreciation to move that to your other desired business units.
