Exporting MS Access table to AS/400

I'm at a client who has E1 B7334, and is selling off a couple of companies to different buyers. We're using MS Access to query the data files download the company specific files. We'd then like to export from MS Access back to AS/400 (in a different library, that is set up in a new environment). Then the buying company can log into the new environment and check the data for completeness. Having trouble getting the data from MS Access back to AS/400. Any ideas?

What issues are you having? And just a thought, could a custom version of R98403 work? Create a new local datasource pointing to Access, and a new DS pointing to your new library, and via data selection you should be able to get it to pick up all or selected tables.

Please explain the process you are using to transfer the data? What OS level is the as/400 at, what release of client access? It sounds like you are bringing the data down to MS Access from the as/400, massaging it and then sending it back up? May be able to help more with more information ~ Angelis

Is client access giving you any error messages at all? You need an *.FDF file to move the data to the AS400. The FDF file defines the data definition of your Access file and should reside somewhere on your pc. Also, the field data types coming out of Access cannot differ from the AS400 FDF file, otherwise you'll receive an error. It's a trial and error and/or seek and conquer kind of activities. Good luck.
