Exiting OneWorld Applications

When users close or cancel out of a OneWorld application should they use the
Close and/or Cancel button on the OneWorld Tool Bar or should they use the
'X" located in the upper right hand corner of the application window. There
are arguments for both but if you have any insight I'd like to here it.

i don't know how much of a difference it makes in most applications but i was told in a tools class (b733) that using the "X" in the top corner to exit RDA or ADA will not close some threads properly and that it could lead to memory violations. maybe they have fixed that in XE.

We are under Xe, and would strongly recommend to properly close
applications without using the "x" in the top right corner. Batches tend
to stay open and in use; records have been orphaned if improper exits are
performed.

Got_to_love_jde is right - you should not use X in the top right corner - it
increases chances for memory violation (only if you called a second program
with form interconnect, but you can never know for sure). And they did "fix"
it in XE - now it is no longer possible to use the upper right X, because it
is disabled.
