EDI - TrustedLink / Peregrine / Harbinger

We are looking into an EDI interface to connect to the JDEdwards
OneWorld tables in our AS/400.

1. Are there any major installation issues with the
Harbinger/Peregrine/Trustedlink interface? Is it reliable?
2. How does Harbinger / Peregrine / Trustedlink compare with Sterling
EDI?

We currently use TrustedLink here. The installation can be a breeze if you
know what your doing. However our interface is with World
Side(Coexistence). I'm sure in the future we will look at the One World
interface. The install involves setting up a Digital Certificate on the
AS/400 so you can create a key file to use to get into their network.
That's the tricky part. The remainder of the install is automatic. Make
sure you get the current release because we had problems with their earlier
versions with time-outs on their network. As far as Sterling, I haven't
seen the product, so I can't compare. Hope this helps.........

Hello Jeremy ...

We are in the middle of installing XE and integrating it with our existing Peregrine/Harbinger EDI/400 (even though the project has been put on hold "until we get more money").

We have used EDI/400 for as long as I have been with the company, and it has been rock solid. It just sits there and churns away.

Because JDE does not do some of the documents our trading partners require, we have written a lot of home-grown "middle-ware" that extracts data from JDE and feeds the EDI. Also, JDE's EDI interface is clumsy at best, sometimes just wierd.

I have trained on Peregrine's newest version 5, and the tools appear to be real slick, lots easier to use than the old green screen. Haven't used Sterling for about 10 years, so can't help you there.

Good Luck.
