Does menu and fast path security work with the Portal?

We currently are implementing the HTML client and FAT clients and force users to a specific menu and we also turn off the fast path. We started looking at the ActiveEra Portal implementation. We got it to work and used the default workspace "Active Foundation", however, when we pull up the workspace it allows access to all menus and also the fastpath. Is this by design? Anyone get menu and fast path security implemented on the portal? gm.
