Disabling UBE Job Completion Messages in the JDE Work Center

I ran across a document # 645319.1 yesterday on My Oracle Support, which talks about a new JDE.INI parameter (for the enterprise/batch servers). This parameter allows you to have more control of when UBE Job Completion Messages are created in the JDE Work Center. You can turn off all such messages, have them always sent (the default value), or have them sent only when a UBE ends in error (my favorite option).

This parameter was introduced in Tools Release 8.98.4.0, and must be manually maintained in the JDE.INI file until TR 8.98.4.3, when it will be included in Server Manager.

This setting may help reduce a LOT of clutter in your JDE Work Centers (for messaging), plus cut down on database storage.

Thank you for sharing this. We only use the error reports, and don't need the successful completion notices. This has a side effect of making the purge WC process faster.

Good God, it's about time! If I had a nickel for every time I've been asked by a client to do this over the years ...

Cool find, Don.
