Deleting UBE

Hi,

We are trying to delete existing UBE's (that have been deployed to DV, PY
and PD). We have created a project and brought the UBE's into that project.
Marked them as "Remove objects from all locations" and advanced the project
to status 38. Objects and specs have been deleted from DV and PY, but not
from PD. I can still see the F9861 record for PD as well as the version
record in F983051 (PD Versions). I am not getting any error message when
advancing the project to 38(In Production).

Activity rules are set for *ALL for PWC Administrator (All Object Types, all
Project Statuses, all Actions). Did anybody run into this before? I saw a
posting some time ago saying to add allowed actions 02, 04 for UBE, UBEVER
at status 38 (which should be included in the *ALL anyway), tried this and
still didn't work. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Adrian Oanta

Have you tried adding a new project at status 40 (production development) and deleting it there? Mind you, you need to set up the deletion OMW rules for that status. From your email, it sounds like a status issue.

Adrian,
Check the Activity Rules for UBE and UBEVER at the level where you promote the project status to 38 (maybe 28 to 38).
The Allowed Action field should contain 03 "Transfer or Delete".
Only the Allowed Action settings and granting the Activity Rules to the PVC Admin is not enough.

On the other hand, you can check the Logging of your project in OMW. Sometimes it can be useful to figure out what is the real problem (... and sometimes iT isn't). Drill down with Log Detail and Full Text Row Exits. On the Full Text screen you can navigate with the Previous and Next Button (you can find it only on the toolbar!) on the Details.

Please, share with us what was the problem when you resolved this issue. Thanks.

Good luck,
Zoltán

Hi Catherine,

Actually it was a combination of me missing the delete rule(I was doing the
delete on transfer and the activity rule for PY->PD was "Transfer Only"
rather than "Transfer and Delete") and some "orphan" versions in PD. I
didn't post the resolution as it was a user error.

Thanks,
Adrian
