Deductions management in A/R and sales

Hello list,

Does anyone have an opinion on using the deductions management
functionality in One World versus a bolt-on or third party package such as
the offering from Tricor?

The manufacturer sells to retail customers, but uses a wholesaler to handle
the distribution channel. The customer sees one price but the wholesaler
sees another. The wholesaler takes deductions from the invoice price,
i.e., creates chargebacks when remitting to the manufacturer. The
manufacturer needs deductions management functionality to keep track of the
deductions and to audit their validity. Invalid deductions are presented
frequently to the manufacturer.

Can One World handle this well, or would a bolt-on do a better job?

There is some new functionality in Xe called Ship and
Debit that was developed for the electronics industry
but may apply in this case.
An agreement is set between a manf. and a end user
with the product handled by a dist.
These agreements and shipment quantities are tracked
and dollars are calculated based on the price
agreements between the manf. and the end user.
I have not worked with this extensively but it may
help.
Others from the list may have more information on
this.
