db2 new index

Hi,
I would like to add new index for table F4108 in our db2. It is not for JDE-usage, it is for our labeling program to work faster. Is there any danger if I create a new index called F4108_tarrat. That should not affect JDE in any way as all JDE-indexes are called F4108_x, where x is running number.

Our database is db2 udb 8.2 on Windows, if that matters.

Hi,

There's no problem with that.
Please, be aware that if you ever Regenerate Indexes on
your F4108, you'll have to manually recreate index
"tarrat" on that table.

Not so much a concerns with regen of indexes. If you regen the table it will delete all the indexes. If you regen the indexes, the custom indexes will still be there.
