If your JDE database resides on the System i - iSeries - AS/400, I just posted a SQL UDF in the Downloads section of JDELIST that you might find useful.
This UDF (User-Defined Function) makes it easier with SQL to view Julian dates in JDE files - it converts them to *ISO format (YYYY-MM-DD) so you can actually read the date!
