Hello ,

First for thank you for the assistance. This forum has been very helpful to me.

I have been asked to do a Data Only Upgrade (8.9 to 9.0 on Windows and SQL server) and have searched the metalink found a article "Data Only Upgrade Xe to 8.12 documentation [ID 662039.1]" The doc above tells us to .. For Data Only Upgrade, below is exactly what you need to do.

1. Copy the PRD733 business data to the DV7333 business data. (You can do this an number of ways depending on your data base. AS400 can use
libcpy, SQL and Oracle can use restore, or a version of the R98403 in EnterpriseOne could be used.)
2. Sign on the Deployment server in the JDEPLAN environment.
3. Access menu GH9611.
4. Select "Table and Index Creation Log"
5. Enter the environment you want to upgrade again in the Target Environment.
6. Delete the records for any Business Data tables.
7. Go to menu GH961
8. Choose Custom Installation Plan.
9. Click find and Select on your original Upgrade Plan.
10. Expand the Plan
11. Highlight Environments, click select.
12. Set the Detail Status for the Environment you are refreshing data to a 30.
Click Save, then cancel
13. Highlight Table Conversions, click select.
14. Reset the status for Business data tables only to a 30.
Click Save, then Cancel.
15. You can now run installation workbench for this plan.

but am little confused on couple of items listed below
9. Click find and Select on your original Upgrade Plan.
There isn't a upgrade plan if I am doing a Installation and just need to upgrade the business data and control tables.

Please help with steps on doing the data only upgrade.

Thank you

Hi,

Even if it's a data-only upgrade, you need an upgrade plan.

hi...we are in a similar position only our data-only upgrade is from Xe to 9.0 We are logged into the E9 planner environment and trying to create the upgrade plan. how does one make E9 upgrade planner recognize the source as B7334 data sitting on another server (in the same network but different subnets)...there is something I have read on creating ODBC mapping in this forum but not sure how to go about it. Pls advice.
