Cycle Count unit of measure

Our primary unit of measure is eaches because that is how we sell it to our end customer. When we produce our product, we bundle the like items in cases and ship them out of the warehouse in cases. We never deal with eaches in the warehouse.

A problem is arising in doing cycle counts. It seems that the inventory count programs give you no control over the unit of measure. Everything is eaches. You can enter a count in cases by entering the amount and then entering the UofM as cases, but that is too much work for our guys and errors occur. When looking at the variances, eaches really make no sense to them and there doesn’t seem to be a way to view the variances in cases.

They are performing most of their count activity in Excel right now because of this. Any clues on how to make this program use cases?
