Customer Sales Analysis?

I'm looking for a way to determine the "pattern" on our customers (through Sales). So far, I haven't found anything in JDE so I am hoping someone has run into something. It's nothing fancy, I just want to know if a customer has been "buying from us" on a monthly basis. This can be a $ figure, or just that we did a transaction with them. Anything to show us a "pattern" for the customer. Any ideas before I start to write something either custom or otherwise?

Contact Don Parkin @ Silvon they are in the business intelligence area and
have some really nice products for dissecting sales information. Don is at

You might try running the "Refresh Actuals" report (P3465) if you have
system 34 (Forecast). You tell it how many months (or years) to go back.
The report will create Forecast type "AA" for each part and put it into
either monthly or weekly buckets.

Look @ file F42119..........................

IF all sales activity is within JDE and using module 42 try the
F4229 sales analysis file. If that isn't the case (and it isn't for us) I
have ended up using Query to create a number of files to achieve the same
thing.

Last year I wrote a whole subsystem on this type of activity.

The main information was loaded into temporary working files and based on the F42119

We grouped data by different things, i.e customer/warehouse, item/warehouse,
Customer requested date vs actual delivey, did the order ever go on back order, (We tagged one of the user fields if it ever hit B/O). We had many sorts to have data visibilty. This was more for the warehouses to see how efficient they were and how well the orders where being completed. It even provided us with the top moving products by $$ and another by Movement.

The reports where run on a monthy basis and we grouped information by month and yearly with many different sorts.

Let me know if you would like more information. It was time consuming to get it going. But the results were amazing.
