Custom Error Message (Alias\') Numbers

What are the correct range/formats that should be used for customized error
message numbers?

You can find it in the "Development Standards: Application Design" JDE Documentation on your the documentation CD.

Generally these naming conventions in the documentation(s) changed from release to relase (not a fortunate thing and I am not happy about it).

We name our error messages with a system code prefix following a 4 digit long running number e.g.: 55010019 where 5501 is the Sytem Code is 5501 and the running number is 0019.
