Custom Environment - New Pathcode

dave_laha

Active Member
List,

I have been upto my neck the last few days with this new environment creation!
Finally seem to have the beast under control. However, I do have one issue.
While all UBEs are running successfully both locally and on the servers, none of
the UBEs are picking up any data. I had experienced this problem once before
about an year ago, at a different location. If my memory serves me right, this
is a simple fix! But for the life of me, I cannot remember what!!

Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance.

Happens all the time ---> make sure your server map data source master for
Business Data - X uses DBDR in the DLL field (not JDBODBC.DLL).

Lisa / Sebastian,

Checked ODBC connection to database. Its fine! Here is some additional info
that I just found out. I am able to get data by running any XJDE or ZJDE
versions, but no data when I run any custom versions!

Checked F983051 - both ENV and MMKEY fields are populated with the right
environment and deployment server names.

Dave

You create a new path code? if yes you need populate de Object Librarian

Create New OL records

· Log into OneWorld, fastpath to BV

· Do a find for R989861

· Double click on the XJDE0001

· In the Processing Options, set your source PathCode to the PathCode you copied, Target is the New Custom PathCode

I hope this help you

Dave,
There is a quick fix (at least it was for me, he he): just look into the att'd document HOW/WHAT Processing Options are to be used; you'll have a/some nice surprises!
On Page 2
Option 3 should be 2
Option 7 should be "A"

Dave,
Are you sharing a pathcode? If so, you mentioned that the F983051 had the
proper Environment name. I believe that the ENHV field should contain the
pathcode name, not the environment.

JD,

How sure are you about this? The reason I ask is because the UBE problem I am
encountering is happening only at the new pathcode/environment. All other
pathcodes/environments are processing UBEs and dumping data properly. So I
checked our current production business data's data source master and it is
setup with the JDBODBC.DLL. And our production environment is having no
problems. In fact, if I recall correctly, for Intel to Intel SQL server setups
Edwards recommends using JDBODBC.DLL middleware.

Dave,

It seems like the UBE Kernel is not JITING the specs
for the new versions to the server
jdeEdwardsOneWorld\ddp\b733x\patchode\spec\RDA*.*
tables. Does the TIME STAMP change in these tables
after you submit the UBE ?

You should be able to see error messages on the UBE
Kernel log (probably ODBC SQL errors).

Have you checked OCM mappings for F983051 and F98306
on the Server Map for the new environment ? Do you
have an ACTIVE OCM entry on the Server Map for these
tables pointing to Versions - XXXX and Central Objects
- XXXX ?

I'll be glad to take a look at your UBE log.

Jorge

Dave,
Have your custom version specs been deployed to the Enterprise
Server? You may need to check them all in and build a package (server
pkg as well as client pkg) should do it.

Adrian,

Thanks! I have had this white paper for a while and have used these options in
R98403 successfully in the past and also this time.

Adri,

Thanks! Checked this, and found SYSTEM user is setup in SQL security for the
new database.

Check SQL Security. Make sure you add the system user to your new database.

Keith,

I am not sharing a pathcode. Regardless, I agree with you that *ENV field in
F983051 is really the pathcode and not the environment. I do have the new
pathcode info populated in this field.

Thanks.

Lisa,

You know something, I think I will just go ahead and build another new full
client and server package! I have almost pulled my hair out trying to figure
this out! I had copied the OL records and update the two fields in F983051
prior to building a full client + server package. Although the package builds
and deployments went successfully, something weird could have happened! But I
hate uncertainties! I want to be able to explain the "weird" part if a new
package solves the issue.

At this point, I am beginning to think like you - just build another full
package, and it will be ok.

Will let you guys know! But may not be before the weekend.

Dave
