Credit Hold questions

(1) Can I set some sort of coding in E1 that will allow a very select number of customers to be exempt from credit checks/ holds? Some of our larger groups have set up a code that allows our best customers to go through the system without having orders held up for credit checks.

(2) Does JD Edwards look at pending orders and open A/R when determining if an account is over the credit limit?

(3) Does JD Edwards view credits on account that age as past due and flag such accounts. If a $1000 credit gets issued tomorrow and ages and becomes (1,000) 1-30 days past due will the system recognize this as past due and place the account on credit hold?

Thanks

Hi,

1. On the customer's Billing Instructions use the "Exempt from Credit Hold” (EXHD) flag.

2. Yup, but works differently on future orders.

3. It has the functionality to create credit holds based on either a.credit limit only or b.credit limit + aging (based on how many days you want to kick-in the credit hold).

Hope this helps.

I do hae another quick question, for question #2 you wrote that processing works differently on future orders, in what way?

Future orders are not part of the calculation for the credit check. If one needs to place these future orders on-hold they need to run R42995 (set the desired PO) and run these on schedule.

hth.
