Computer ID and OneWorld/TSE implemention

Hello everyone:

We have OW version B7331 running with Windows 200 and Citrix Metaframe. We
have Citrix implemented to work with Sales Order proccessing and Advanced
Pricing, and we are having problems (with pricing). Apparently, everything
is being deleted from a workfile because it is deleting by Computer ID
instead of User ID. I ask JD Edwards about this, and they told me that I
have to apply the changes mentioned on the WTS Cookbook. I downloaded it
today, but it has lot of changes.

The question is: that's the only solution available? I know that if I don't
use Citrix I will not have this situation, but I can't afford to do that
because the performance of the Sales Order processing module over on the
remote sites is very bad without Citrix.

Thanks

If you are using WTS TSE on remote client, will local printing be =
possible
and how to configure.

I cannot think of another solution.

What's happening is this. OW is using work files. Everyone who is going through Citrix is using the same machine --hence the same computer ID. There are lots of places (BSFN, UBE, APPL) where the work files are being deleted using the computer ID instead of the user ID.

Is it painful to apply? Yes, it will take at least a week to apply and test. You need to apply the whole thing. It's all or nothing.

Hi Miguel,
You might want to consider an upgrade as you wont have this issue with a later version of OneWorld.

Good luck.

Maybe you should attempt to map the Sales Order MBF to the Enterprise server ? This will place B4200310 into a mode which it was designed to run.

I think you should investigate this since it is a highly-recommended method of using Terminal Servers (which is what the 'W' environments are used for). The issue was fixed in later service packs since it occurs with the method of TCP/IP port useage that OneWorld had.

Hope that helps.

This will not resolve the issue. The problems are that the work files are being deleted based on computer ID not user ID.

RE: printing locally with WTS

Hi there !

If the report runs on the Enterprise, you have to declare the printer
on both the Enterprise (Windows NT Control Panel) and on OneWorld.
When you install a Printer on the Enterprise, you can add it as a
network IP printer or a printer shared by some other server or PC.
If the report run locally, you only have to declare the printer on
the Terminal Server Control Panel.

re[2]: printing locally with WTS

Hi Sebastian,

How do you make the reports run locally on the Terminal Server? This is not an option if I tried to override the location. Is there anything that I need to setup on the Terminal Server?

Thanks,
Tet
