Hi list

can any body tell me how to change printers at runtime.

Thanks
Allen.

You unplug one and then you plug the other... ;-)

Seriously speaking : we'd need more specific information.
For example : platform (Windows? UNIX? AS/400?), database,
JDE release? Tools Level? Why do you need this requirement?

sorry for not mentioning my version details this is my first post for the list

Thanks
Allen

Maybe she/he is right.

SOLUTION ID: 201021706 : E1: RDA : Select Printer for Report Using Event Rules

on Oracle site discuss it, how to do that - and this "white-paper" is rarely good and detail.

Sorry, that I do not copy this onto JDEList, I do not know, does it violates with any copyright or not.

Please, check this Solution ID on the Customer Connection site of Oracle.

Hope, this helps,

Regards,

Zoltán

To add to Zoltan's comment...Do Init would be the place, and you could pass in a printer string via a report interconnect. Of course, you may need to create a BSFN to query E1 for the correct printer you want before passing it in. We did this for dcLink UBE calls.

Hope that helps a little.

Thanks all for ur replies.
I will look after it in the oracle site.

Thanks,
Allen

Start from RDA menu:

Report > Event Rule Operations... > Edit Report Level Event Rules...

...here you will find the Do Initialize Printer event and Initialize Logical Printer Name system function under General category.

Hope, this helps.

For anyone else still looking for the Oracle document, its new identifier is Doc ID 650027.1 under support.oracle.com -> "Archive" section.
