Canceling Sales Orders

Is there a way to cancel an entire Sales Order without canceling each item # on the sales order individually? These are Sales Orders that are still in the 520 status.

I looked up "canceling sales orders" in the JDE operators guide and it said to enter a date in the "Cancel Date" in the Sales ORder Header, which is supposed to cancel a sales order if nothing is received or shipped. But this does not seem to work the way I expected it to. Is there another program that is supposed to do the actual cancel.

We are on Rel 7.3 cum 6.

Thanks in advance for your help

Diana

Just go to the sales detail screen and enter a 'D' for the action code. This
will delete the entire sales order. This does not work on the sales header
screen.

Go to the order detail screen after inquiring on the order to pull it up.
With the WorldVision product click on the red "-" minus button at the bottom
of the screen for delete. On World green-screen put a "D" for delete in the
action code field and that accomplishes the same thing. Be aware that there
is still a bug in JDE that does not timestamp the record with update date
and time when you cancel orders this way.

Did you check your Dream Writer version? There is processing option #33 and
#38 which might be causing your problem.

In World you should be able to put a D in the action code and it should
cancel all lines. The cancel date doesn't do much, except I think it is
checked if you are doing a blanket order release.

Try using the "D" action code when inquiring on the order from P4211. I am
pretty sure that will work since it is at a 520 status.
