Calling UBE from Application

I have added a print button to a form to generate a report and have placed event rules on the push button to call the UBE and pass report interconnect parameters to the UBE.

Is there a way to check on the successful completion (or unsuccessful completion) of a UBE called from the application? When I call this report and run locally it seems to work fine but when I just run on server I am not sure if it runs successfully since I am not getting a PDF file in my printqueue directory. Thanks.

Did you try to see your submitted job using P986116-Work With Servers (GH9011)?

I did see my submitted job on the server unfortuantely the status was error (description "Error", priority 5). Now to fix the error.

I was almost ready to say ... "Glad to hear that!" but, then ... the error ... you know ...

Have you run the UBE from the batch versions list before calling from an
application or another UBE. Prior to 733.2 you have to do this in order to
move the specs to the enterprise server in 733.2 there is a way to submit the
version specs only.

I have a question, I am trying to do the same thing. I went into my Appl. =
and on the Menu/Tool Bar exits I added a row exit then a generate report =
button. Behind the Generate report button I went to event rules an =
selected the report interconnect UBE, passed the value in the data =
structure from the Appl. to the report (used the keys).
In my Appl from the form (headerless detail) see attached form. When I =
click on the generate report button the report goes to the server and does =
not report on the whole file just on the selected grid item. How can I =
run this report to read the entire file and to run local on the users work =
station ( thin client) If this is possible any help would truly be =
appreciated. Thanks=20

To run the report locally, you can define the OCM mapping for this object
to point to LOCAL.
As for the report processing only one record, you could check if this is not
due to the fact that this is what you pass to the Data Structure.
Try not passing anything and see if it then processes all the file.

Mike, you can see the output of the report from the "Submitted Reports"
screen. You can access that from the menu "View"/"User Option" or from the
exit row in Work With Batch Version / "Form" / Submitted jobs

I agreee with Phillipe in that you may want to check what information you are passing to the UBE. Maybe use debug to check paramters before they are passed to the the UBE.
Have you tried running your UBE by running it by iteself passing it processing options or setting up data selection first?

As for my problem it has been partially resolved. I was able to see my error on the server by using the program as suggested by Adrian and the reason that my UBE did not run properly on the server is that we were having a problem with some of the package builds.

PS I believe all attachements are stripped out when they are sent to the list.
