Boxes in RDA

Without using a forms package, is there any method of drawing boxes in RDA?

A: (Thank you for your contribution Tim Pierce):
Create a new font on Windows. Make the letters a-z horizontal and
vertical lines of various lengths (but usually the maximum size you can
get). Then use this font in the ERP to form boxes on the report.

It works a treat!

I used a shareware program called Font_Creator. Download it from this
address:

Creating the font is the tricky bit, but once created and installed on all
thick clients and UBE servers its easy to incorporate lines & boxes into
your reports.

An alternative was presented by Zoltan Gyimesi :

1.) Place a Report Constant somewhere in the centre where you want your box later to appear.
2.) Override the Variable Name with spaces (2-3).
3.) Mark the "Single Rectangle" check box for it on the Constant Properties window.
4.) Adjust the vertical and horizontal size of the box changing the font size of it and the number of spaces in the Variable Name of it.
5.) You can position the frame on the section the same way you position any element on a section.

P.S.: Maybe, you should set the Absolute Position for the section. This trick comes originally from one of our (Zoltan’s) talented guys, not from me.

1st Problem: When you place this frame, which is really a Report Constant, over other section objects then you won't be able to access these overlapped objects.
2nd Problem: Maybe you want to use more frames with identical size.

Solutions:
A.) Create a dummy conditional section and build your frame prototype here. Use Copy/Paste and position the frames for identical frames. Cut the frame to access the overlapped objects and Paste back when finished.
B.) Copy/Paste for identical frames does not require a dummy section.
C.) To access the overlapped objects you can also simply position the frame temporarily elsewhere in the section.
D.) To access the overlapped objects you can also temporarily dramatically decrease the font size and later restore to the original size.
