Does anyone know of a method to automaticlly put
orders on credit hold once the credit limit has been
reached. The only thing we have found is a work flow
process for informing our CM that the customer is over
the limit.
any help would be great.

You can set up an automatic credit hold which compares the credit limit t=
hat you set up in the Customer Master for your customer against an order =
and any outstanding A/R. =20

Example: set customer Y's credit limit to 5,000. Outstanding A/R is 1,0=
00. A new sales order will only process 4,000 or less. Anything higher =
will place the order on hold.

Turn on the processing option in Sales Order Entry on the Order Holds tab.
You'll have to setup your Credit Check code in every branch/plant in the
Order Hold Code setup file as well. Then when you enter an order it will go
on hold if this order plus open receivables plus other open orders exceeds
the credit limit.

Don,

There is a built-in process for credit checking that can put orders on hold.
You need to set a credit limit amount in the Customer Master, P03013. Then,
make sure you have a hold code set up appropriately in Order Hold
Information, P42090. Finally, in the processing options for Order Entry,
P4210, on the Order Holds tab, enter the hold code in the Customer Credit
Check field. When an order is entered for that customer that causes the
credit limit to be exceeded, the order will go on hold, with the hold code
that is specified. You can see (and release) orders on hold in Release Held
Orders, P43070.

You must set it up through order entry. It is pretty
easy. You can follow the documentation.

Then you can work in conjub=nction with credit
granting to administer credit and collections
activity.

Through sales order there is functionality to release
orders from hold using a password, etc, that is set up
through sales order.
