Alteration of availability checking to include non-blank lot status codes

Has anyone ever customized the system to allow a non-blank lot status code to be considered available inventory? If so, can you provide a little detail on the extent of the change needed and the repercusions t future system use in terms of ESUs etc?

Just copy one of availability BSNFs and clone it.
Add whatever code you want to suit.

The instant you change a base object you are open to ESU analysis. If you create a N55 clone, you're fine. However, you have to call the clone BSFN, but that might be easier to sort out and retrofit and ESU time.

Depends how you are intending to call the BSFN and get your answer. The less changes you make, the easier your ESU downloads will be
