Advise on OW Infrastructure

Hi All,

We need some advise on building up a right infrasturure on JDE Oneworld, for the our group of companies with setup below :

* We have 5 companies in the nations, the max distance is about 800KM.

* One of this company are HQ, two subsi are Medium size and two subsi are in small scale. All in different business function. (Medium size mean about 20 JDE user, and small mean less then 10 JDE user)

* We implemented HQ with Oneworld, about 50 users.

Now, our next concern will be on the WAN infrasture.. of course, integration will be the final goal of implementing the project. We hope that at the end of the day, financial results can be integrated and consolidate to HQ, for the top management to monitor and perform dicision making. Off course, detial trancation are not needed to be shown in HQ, but only finacial results in summary format.

Therefore, we are interested to know, should we implement site all with individual Oneworld (as all differnet business function and industrial) , that link them together ? If there is the case, How to link Oneworld with Onewold using leased line ??

Or should we implement a huge server farm in HQ, then link all subsi with one set of Oneworld ?? Or using Citrix solution ? How is the connectivities ?? What is the speed requied for Leased Line ??

Or we can have mixed solution on above ? For the small subsi companies, we use HQ server vuia Cetrix, and the two medium size companies, they have they onw Oneworld with Deployment and Enterprise server, and there is a link to HQ.

I would implement a single OneWorld installation on a central site and
let all the users access via Citrix and/or Terminal Server and/or
Web Xe Client.
OneWorld network traffic is huge indeed and no WAN link would support
it with an acceptable performance for 20 users.
I've tested a single B7321 remote user through a dedicated 256 Kb
line and it was frankly unacceptable.
If you're still on B7321, Citrix works very well with it.
Citrix (or Terminal Server alone) don't transmit data, just keystrokes,
mouse clicks and screen shots. Citrix runs well with 5 Kbps per
concurrent user, and Terminal Server alone uses about 15 Kbps.
You may install a single copy of OneWorld and setup custom environments
for each of your countries with its own languages and legal intrincacies.
Of course, OneWorld architecture lets you define several UBE and DB
servers, so that you can physically separate your branches activity.
