ActiveConsole security

Hi and Seasons Greetings,

We're in the process of upgrading from XE to 8.12 and all is going as well as expected but I have come across an issue that perplexes me somewhat.

I have a requirement to load the ActiveConsole on at least three desktop machines (these will be used primarily for those who are going to be report writers). What I have noticed is that unless I make these users administrators of their pc's, logging into activeconsole fails (keeps asking for database login username and password - alot!!).

Has anyone else come across this situation (8.12 or whatever) and if so, could you please let me know what you did short of making the user a local admin (it's not I don't trust them, but...)

Thanks and Regards

Malcolm

Give full access to E812 folder and also to the security files in the C: drive. that worked for E1 8.11 SP1
