1 Parent customer many ship to\'s

The problem stems from most of our customers having
many doors to ship to. We cannot find away to stop JDE
from using the wrong ship to.

Example
Customer A Customer B
Ship to Door 12 Ship to door 15
Ship to Door 13 Ship to door 16

You can enter an order in p4210 with Customer A
and ship to door 16 even though they dont match

Is ther any hope?

Actually to be fair the statement "We cannot find away to stop JDE
from using the wrong ship to" should be
"We cannot find away to stop our users from using the wrong ship to"

Its Friday :)

You could use a print message tied to a customer identifying the
proper door number, or use delivery instructions with the proper door numbers, the order entry person still has to select the right door.

RE: 1 Parent customer many ship to\'s

You are correct that there is no edit to prevent this from happening. What
you could do is train your users to only enter the ship to and let the
system find the correct sold to. You do have that relationship setup, don't
you? If you don't know how to do this, let me know. Basically as many ship
tos as you want can be tied to one bill to. If training the users doesn't
work, then you need to do a mod to protect the sold to so it can't be
entered.

Re: 1 Parent customer many ship to\'s

In a similar situation my current client requested that we disable the sold
to field and only allow the user to enter the 'ship to' field.

You can add a processing option to P4210 to enable/disable the "SoldTo"
field. Since the "ShipTo" you enter will automatically go to the address
book and find its parent number and but it in the "SoldTo". Assuming of
course that the Billing Instruction's Related Address Number is pointing to
'Parent'

We also chaged the SO header screen to display the "ShipTo" address so now
when the user is only entering the "ShipTo" they will immediately see that
they are using the correct "ShipTo".
