RES: R98403 (Copy PY to PD)

MJ,

this is documented in the Upgrade manual, section "Upgrading the Production
Environment". You find this manual on a CD that came with the software,
otherwise download it from KG. There are other documentations available like
"Creating a new Pathcode" in the Deploying Modifications Manual.
R98403 works fine. Compared to direct database copy it's advantage is that
it takes care of all the indexs, table-owners, etc. It's disadvantage is
that it is really slow. It should run overnight, though.
After the copy of C.O. you will have to fix the F983051 (Version's) table
and the object librarian F9861 table using SQL.
Don't forget to copy the PY7333 directory over the PD7333 directory on your
deployment server and Enterprise Server.

Good luck, Gerd

Assunto: R98403 (Copy PY to PD)

Does anyone have any experience copying all of PY to PD
so that PD contains all
that PY contains. We are looking for another way to get
production up with all
the ESU's/custom mods, other than going through OMW and
advancing projects from
PY to PD (object transfer) to get those objects into PD.

JDE has told us that we would probably have to use BV
R98403|XJDE0019 to
accomplish this, but they have no procedure, and are not
too sure exactly what
we would have to do.

If anyone has tried this and were successful, please let
me know.

Thanks in advance.

MJ

Gerd,

Can you please clarify fixing the F983051 (Version's) table and the object
librarian F9861 table using SQL? What needs to be done? Last week I used
the R98403 to copy all CO, Control Tables, Versions and Business Data from
PY to PD, but I have not been able to build a successful full server package.
Maybe this is what I am missing.

Thanks,
Mechele

Dear List,

I know which field to fix for F983051 after the copy of C.O. but am not quite =
sure of the object librarian table F9861. What do I need to fix?

Thanks for your help,

Tet-

You only need to run R989861 Object Librarian copy.

David Silvasi
