Helo ,
Refer in KG for sizing on various platforms. Also you can send your
questions to the respective propritories.

RE: New OneWorld Project - Platform Reference Sites Required

Ian, if you send your requirements to any of the major vendors they will be
all to happy to size the servers for you. Anyways here's a run down of what
we use for a planned client base of 300 concurrent users (240 FAT and 60
TSE) running Financials and HR/Payroll. Everything's RAID 5 so you'll have
to do the math. Our TSE's are mapped back to the Enterprise server as we
have no dedicated Application server - hench the reason why our Enterprise
server seems over spec'ed. Also our TSE's are not dedicated to OW - hench
why they also seem over spec'ed.

Deployment Server
System Model: Compaq Proliant 5500 Series System

SCSI-2)
5 - 18.2 GB Drives on Channel 2 (10,000 rpm Ultra
SCSI-2)
Controller: Compaq Smart Array 4200 Controller

Enterprise Server (Application/Batch Server & Database Server)

7 - 18.2 Gb drives on channel 1 (10,000 rpm Ultra SCSI-2)

Re: New OneWorld Project - Platform Reference Sites Required

We are OW coexistant on AS/400 model S20 with approx. 150 users across North America. I don't know what the AS/400 processor is. We run our batch jobs on AS/400. We have two Citrix servers.

When you convert to OW will you be upgrading to Xe?

Hi List

We are a financial institution (Bank) running mainly the Financial Module with 280 concurrent users dispersed throughout Southern Africa (mainly South Africa). We have been using World for 12 years, and want to migrate to OneWorld using coexistence, but are struggling to find reference sites to benchmark our hardware requirement. Can anyone help with the following queries:

1) Model and CPW of an AS400 to handle coexistence, and then eventually a pure OneWorld installation once all users have been converted.

2) Sizing of an NT Application Server (batch server), and eventually an NT Database Server (once all users have converted to OW). Our current AS400 will act as the Database Server during coexistence.

3) Sizing of a Unix Application Server (batch server), and eventually a Unix Database Server (once all users have converted to OW). Our current AS400 will act as the Database Server during coexistence.

Thanks in advance

Ian, I am with Libbey Glass (Manufacturing) we are very similar in size to you and are struggling with the same questions. It appears many are talking about migration, but few have ventured down the path.

Thanks

Anchor Glass here in Tampa is doing the same thing without any hitches your
might try ICS in Jacksonville Florida I am at home and dont have their
number here but they are doing Anchor's project, and ours. They are very
knowledgable with everything but payroll. that is Information Computing
Services, they write the JDE barcode software.
