It has been brought to my attention that when keying interim checks, tax
exemptions that exist for a pay type are ignored. For us specifically, all
pay types are set up as tax exempt for tax type I (employee portion of SDI).
Unfortunately, unless our pay clerks use the tax override function in the
Interim Check Entry (P060531), the tax exemption is ignored and SDI tax is
calculated for the Interim check. Nothing jumped out at me on the Knowledge
Garden to deal with this issue. With the coming of bonus season and a
smaller staff to do the entry of hundreds of interim checks, the need for
this manual intervention must be eliminated. Any ideas?
