Hard commit to Soft commit

We are working on One World B733.2, S.P.14.1

Is there any way to change an item hard commit to soft commit?

Example :
The item is soft commit (S) when we enter the order.
It becomes hard commit (C) when we print the pick slip.

If we have to ship the item on another order instead of the first order, how can
we decommit the first order item?

For the moment, the only way to decommit an item, is to cancel the line in the
order and create a new line
for the same item.

Thanks

There is a processing option in the print pick slip that determines if it is
a hard commit or not at print pick slip time.

You will need to ship confirm a zero quantity which will cause the line to
be backordered and the hard commit to be cleared. I saw the same issue in
7331 and this is the process that we followed to clear the hard commit.

You should reset the location to the primary - assuming that you have a
blank primary.

This will also do the trick.

Re: RE: Hard commit to Soft commit

Hi Lists,
How about once the hard commit already made at the SO entered (it should not be, but once you enter the location/lot combination, it goes to the hard commit), but later the customer cancel the orders ?
I try to simply cancel the SO detail line but can not take the hard commit out.
Is any better idea to do this or I have to follow the process to do the shipment confirm with zero quantity to take the hard commit out ?
Appreciated the inputs.
Regards,
John

Re: RE: Hard commit to Soft commit

When u cancel a line which has been hard commited, it should cancel the hard
commit in inventory. At least even if the commitment flag is still set as
hard commit in the F4211 , the quantitites should have been updated in the
F41021

regards

RE: RE: Hard commit to Soft commit

It should back out the hard commit when you cancel the order. If it does
not, your only recourse is to run sales order repost.
