Special thanks to Quest for the most awesome Collaborate in a long time.

So far we have had an incredible week. On Sunday we had an afternoon packed with great working sessions for the RUG and SIG Leaders, climaxed that evening by a fun poolside Quest Attendee Welcome party.

On Monday at the Opening General Session we were entertained and motivated by Dan Thurmon, Author of "Success in Action" and "Off Balance on Purpose" as he visually demonstrated how maintaining balance in an off-balance world in a whole new way is possible for anyone…literally. His presentation really wowed everyone in attendance.

The educational sessions scheduled throughout each day have been incredible making it so easy to learn and collaborate with other users from all over the world. I would like to thank the session presenters of all the sessions I have attended so far whom have shared a wealth of information and experiences. I also want to that the attendees of my Session 83860 “Umbrella In a Hurricane” Managing the Storm of Change in Your Business During Your EnterpriseOne 9.0 Upgrade. They were a great group of attentive and sharing users whom I proud and honored to call colleagues.

On Tuesday we were witness to Lyle Ekdahl, Group Vice President and General Manager, JD Edwards for Oracle sharing the story of the continuing success and growth of JD Edwards products and where we are going as we enter the era of the “9’s”.

Tuesday also marked the opening of the Collaborate 11 Exhibitor Showcase which was huge, informative, and fun to meet the vast number of our Oracle Business Partners and the services and knowledge they share with our user community. Of course the door prizes and outstanding cuisine were icing on the cake. I haven't won one of the dozens of iPads being given away but I still have hope...lol

Yesterday (Wednesday) we experienced the awesome first-hand stories of speakers Apollo 13 astronauts Jim Lovell and Fred Haise at the Quest Meeting of the Membership. I was really moved and glued to their every word as we all heard first hand of that incredible string of events that was nothing short of a miracle made possible by the intelligence, wit, humor, and experience of the Apollo 13 crew and NASA Mission Control. I know this may sound silly, but I am sure that I was not the only person in the Chapin Theatre hearing their first person accounts and reminiscing the Hanks/Bacon/Paxton movie visuals to easily imagine being there with them as they told the story.

Well the conference is going so fast but luckily there are still two more days of great collaborating including Universal Studios Orlando tonight with a few thousand of my friends. I hope more of you out there join in and share your experiences at Collaborate 11 here. I know that we will all have memorable experiences to reminisce for a long time.

Again special thanks to the Quest staff who are nothing short of TOTALY AWESOME in their efforts so far to insure that every minute of your Collaborate 11 conference is the best it can be.

p.s., If you attended Session ID 83860 “Umbrella In a Hurricane” Managing the Storm of Change in Your Business During Your EnterpriseOne 9.0 Upgrade and would like to download the presentation PowerPoint, please go to http://www.questdirect.org and search Media for 83860 where it is available for download.
