Xe and Update 1

We are still pre-installation of Xe SP13. The approach being taken by
project management is no ESUs / SPs, but only relevant SARs picked off the
KG.
However, everyone's talking about Update 1.
Are we about to encounter errors with our base pack that will force us to go
to Update 1?
If so, could someone describe a couple of them, so that I can prove it to
management, and start applying Update 1 now rather than loads of single
SARs.
Our administrator tried checking a Report Version out and back in again in
OMW, and it appeared to work okay.
