Upgrade B733.2 to XE

Hello List.
We are moving from B733.2 to XE. Our platform is NT workstations, some fat,
some thin, with common libs on an AS/400. I am looking for some feedback on
how this will impact me as a developer. Will I need training due to the
changes in interface and operation, is the debugger is any better, that kind
of stuff. Is there a some documentation out there somewhere? Do you have
any comments?

Your input would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

You may want to watch out for OMW (Object Management Workbench). This is a new way One World tracks objects by maintaining them inside a project that contains all your objects pertaining to a change or new development. This makes change management much easier but takes a while to get used to working with the OMW. You may want to check out knowledge garden for more information.

- One World B733, SP 11.3
- One World Xe B7333, SP 13 Windows NT

Only one simple addition to Mike's valuable hint; be sure your CNC gets the OMC, too. I will join my CNC, thursday, for a OMC & OMW combo/training class that might take two days, we'll see. I'll keep you posted if you want.

PS When you go on the KG, look for the OneWorld Xe Support site; there are so many guides available there (NetChange including Technical, too) it's really hard to tell which one is more important ...
(see the ... long address below

you may have to concatenate the multiple lines, one after another!

Hi Les,

JDE does offer some XE net change courses (a day/two) for the relevant
changes from B733n. Some changes are quite significant (OMW vs. OL), and the
toolset has been improved. It might be worth the time doing the course, but
if there are a few techies in your team, you could probably work a great
deal of them out...

Seano,
B7332; Xe (Demo)
