Unattended Operations Set Up

Hello,

At the Unattended Operations setup, there is a column called SUSPEND where
we key in a date.

Can you explain whether the SUSPEND is for a particular date only or is it
wef the date keyed in the SUSPEND column

eg. if the date is 12/05/00, does this mean that the night operation will
not run only on 12/05/00 but will continue the day after

OR does it mean the night operation will not run from 12/05/00 onwards until
we remove the date?

In our case, we have set up a job to run daily since the beginning of the
year but would like to suspend the job for 5 days only and continue after
that ie. suspend the night job from 12/11/00 to 12/15/00 and to start again
on 12/16/00.

What's the best way to set this up?

Appreciate whatever advise is available....many thanks!

Regards,
May

The suspend date will hold until removed.

I sometimes found that the job did not always suspend on demand. The job ran
one more time, then suspended as requested.

The sure thing that always works for me, is to change the execution date into
the future.
i.e. if job has an execution date of 12/05/00, I would change the year to
12/05/20.

This will hold the job and I don't worry if the suspend date doesn't kick in.

I've used the Suspend date in the past and it always indicted the last date
the job should be allowed to run, then will not run after that. In your
case, I would changed the Execution date to 12/16 after it runs for the last
time prior to that. It should not run again until it hits that date.
