RE: OW R31802 performance issue

The F0911 file is GL transactions and will have every line ever sent to the
GL until you archive some of it, like two years and more back. So it is a
huge file, never empty.

You may have mfg transactions to GL set to write in detail (each transaction
line from source program goes to GL as a separate entry) instead of writing
summary entries by BU/object/sub combination. This is a processing option.
Downside of summary entries is, it puts another step in the process when
tracing a source entry to GL when you are debugging an application or the
accounting folks are tracking down a problem. We run all out apps with
"write to GL" set to "detail" and do not see a performance problem. We run
fat clients: not a big shop.
