Hi All,
and thank you all for your responses.
It seems that the preferred strategy is the non-cumulative method.
What nobody mentioned however, is that although the Update Package is
automatically merged with the Parent Package, these new/modified objects
are not actually included in the Parent Package until it is rebuilt or
recompressed.
(That process takes a good 8 hours. )

Thanks again for your support,
and have a great New Year!

Re: Cumulative Package Strategy - Results.

Joseph,

At our company we do an update package a week. We schedule it and every
week it is deployed. However if for some reason we have to reinstall a
machine or there is a new machine, all the updates are transferred to that
machine. We only do a full package or rebuild it as you call it once a
quarter. We have never had any problems with receiving the new/modified
objects. We are on a different platform than you are, but I can't believe
this works any differently. If you have any questions about our procedure
I would be happy to discuss this further with you.

Thanks and have a great day,

Re: Cumulative Package Strategy - Results.

Hi Laurie.

We too planned to deploy with much the same method as you described.
Our actual problem, is that we can no longer successfully deploy CRP
packages.
We have now discovered that our Central Objects in CRP contains only custom
objects.
The PROD Central Objects contain canned objects, as well as custom.
Perhaps CRP deployment will work again, once we fix the CRP Central
Objects.
The big question now is "What corrupted CRP Central Objects?"
This is truly frightening.
